What I watched in Winter 2019

Another season of anime is behind us! We are already one-quarter into 2019… Just as I did at the end of the Fall 2018 anime season – I’m gonna go through all the anime I’ve watched in Winter 2019, be it seasonal, non-seasonal, or a rewatch. Seasonal anime Boogiepop wa Warawanai I do enjoy watching Boogiepop but it’s really not an anime you would watch weekly. After watching the first 2 episodes that way, I already felt confused with the events and characters so I decided to restart my watching. Now I’m just at the start of the second half of the series and I’ll get to finishing the remaining episodes soon. It’s also not an anime I’d watch at any time other than late night. The music and the whole mood just fit that time so well. But I guess that’s expected from something with the Horror tag isn’t Continue reading…

The Promised Neverland Episode 10 – Surely Not

It’s been a while since I did an Episode review. And the last time I did one, it was again for the tenth episode of an anime. This time its about The Promised Neverland. I’ve been actually thinking of making such a post about this anime last week, but I decided to wait for the events of today’s episode instead. But honestly, this anime has been so thrilling I could have written an episode review for every single episode because all of them had something shocking, and all of them left me desperately wanting to know what will happen next. But before he leaves, he explains to Ray and Emma how hopeless the situation for the escape is. Norman attempting Continue reading…

The Promised Neverland – First impressions

Without doubt one of the most talked about anime before Winter 2019 had started was The Promised Neverland. And it’s easy to see why, as the premise is quite intriguing. With 2 episodes out at the time of writing this, has The Promised Neverland lived up to its hype? The Promised Neverland The story is set in the orphanage called Grace Field. Everybody there is happy, the children are given good care and are all usually adopted at the age of 12. Or so it seems. When one of the children, called Conny was about to leave the village, the 12-year old Emma and Norman broke the main rule of the orphanage – not to go beyond the gate. And what they saw made them realize the cruel fate all the children from Grace Field are destined for. They are all meant to be murdered and eaten by demons. Norman Continue reading…

Winter 2019: What looks interesting

With Fall 2018 behind us, it’s time to focus on the new season of anime that is ahead. Last winter was my favorite anime season to date, with series like A Place Further than the Universe, Yuru Camp and Violet Evergarden all airing at the same time. Can this year’s winter season compare to that? Make your own conclusions as I will list the anime I am most likely to watch in Winter 2019, based on their PV, synopsis and genres. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (MAL link) This is an anime whose first episode I have already seen, as it has pre-aired at the end of December. The first episode is 45 minutes long. It’s an isekai with a twist – the main character has been falsely accused of assault and is known by the world for all the wrong reasons. He lacks the thrust of others, and lacks Continue reading…
